After almost three months of split screen meeting and short dates, Alden Richard and Yaya Dub finally faced their fans on the big stage at the 'Tamang Panahon' show of GMA-7's noontime variety program 'Eat Bulaga' at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on Saturday. The show, which featured the grand meeting of the AlDub love team from its popular 'Kalyeserye' segment, aired for over three hours with no commercial break. One hundred percent of the ticket sales for the show will go to the AlDub Library Project which will work on rehabilitating libraries of three elementary schools. 'Tamang Panahon' featured many of the 'Kalyeserye' segment's characters, including Lola Nidora (Wally Bayola), Lola Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) and Lola Tinidora (Jose Manalo).
'Kalyeserye' antagonists Duhrizz (played by Wally Bayola) and Frankie Arenolli (played by Jose Manalo) also made appearances during the show. Midway through the show, Alden and Yaya Dub met on stage to the tune of Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud.'

Wally is Wally Bayola who plays Lola Nidora in the two-month-old kalyeserye that catapulted the split-screen love team of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza/Yaya Dub to overnight stardom.

They always told those auditioning, ‘Look for Jose!’ Then, I became the floor director. “Magulo na talaga ako. Mando ako nang mando sa mga artista. Every now and then they would show me on the screen wearing a headset. They asked me to remove the headset and got me as alalay in the Laban O Bawi segment, then in Bulagaan. I woke up one morning and realized na tuluy-tuloy na ako sa Bulaga.” While Wally has theater experience in high school in Naga City, Jose has no acting background at all. “Natuto na lang,” said Jose.
Wally (real name: Walter James Bayola) grew up in Bicol, in Malinao, Albay. “Ever since I was a kid,” Wally told Funfare in a previous interview, “laruan na ako ng mga tiyahin at tiyuhin ko. When I joined the church choir, my friends treated me the same way, laruan nila. I finished grade/elementary school at a Catholic school in Tabaco, Albay. It was the priest who took care of me. When he died, I went back to stay with my lola in Naga City.
I joined the theater so I could get a scholarship in Naga College. I have a college degree, X-Ray Technician.” He started at The Library as a stand-up comedian, along with Pooh and Teri Aunor, and got into Bulaga! As part of the Bulagaan segment where his tandem with Jose was born. They clicked as hosts of the Juan For All, All For Juan segment of Bulaga! MANILA, Philippines – AlDub has been described as a pairing that “nobody saw coming.” But there’s another reason that the now phenomenal love team of Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza in Eat, Bulaga’s Kalyeserye segment was meant to be.
GMA sources said that it was supposedly the last week of Alden’s hosting stint in Eat, Bulaga when cameras caught Maine breaking out of her stern Yaya Dub character and looking thrilled at the sight of Alden at the studio, watching her “dubsmashing” on the remote Juan for All, All for Juan segment. That fateful July 16 episode gave birth to the one-of-a-kind “split-screen romance” of AlDub. Alden was put on the longest-running noontime show after GMA Artist Center asked Tape, Inc., the producers of Eat, Bulaga, if the Kapuso actor could guest-host while waiting for network projects at that time. “It was very providential,” the source said. Fifteen “weeksaries” after and you have the “hottest” love team in Philippine showbiz today, tapped by one company after another for brand endorsement.
Last Thursday, Alden was launched as the celebrity ambassador of the supplement product Snowcaps, his eighth endorsement deal to date. Six of those endorsements came with the three-month AlDub fever. Expect more to come.

With the roles we’ve given him, he’s always leading man especially in the last two projects Carmela (with no less than Marian Rivera) and Ilustrado (as the young National Hero Jose Rizal). Before the Twitter account was reclaimed, Anonymous Philippines apologized to fans of Maine and Alden Richards. 'Wala po kaming masamang intensyon. We use the internet to communicate with you. It was 2:30 in the afternoon last Friday, Oct. 30, when we caught Wally Bayola at the end of a crowded street in Pamplona 1 in Alabang-Zapote a few minutes after the day’s cliffhanger ending of the Eat, Bulaga! The day’s location for the show’s Juan For All/All For Juan segment was, unlike previous sets, unannounced to avoid attracting what could be uncontrollable crowd from neighboring barangays. Together with the “live” audience of the kalyeserye that has been trending worldwide (even BBC has featured the Pabebe Wave recently, with diplomats and action star Vin Diesel shown doing “it”), we were soaked in sweat in the humid late-October heat.
In her Lola Nidora make-up/get-up, Wally was the only “coolest” creature around, thanks to Maine Mendoza/Yaya Dub who was as usual constantly waving the world’s widest black fan around her. Jose Manalo/Tinidora had begged off for the day. Paolo Ballesteros/Tidora was rushing out maybe for another appointment. On TV, the set did look big but actually the kalyeserye actors were confined to a corner at the back of the house, under what looked like an improvised awning.
As we walked into the house, AlDub Nationals scrambled over one another to get a “selfie” chance with Wally. Working since earlier that day, Wally showed no sign of weariness and obliged with everybody, unmindful of the security guards who tried to control the crowd.
